By "walking on the sides of their feet" you could inadvertently spur the evolution of super pinky toes. Imagine those implications, a powerful outside toe and a progressively weaker toe to the inside. Big toe on the outside and pinky toe on the inside. Nasty. I’ve found a problem with your solution.
